Just go back to that time...

when there was no printing press, no telephone, no internet, no electricity, no cell phones, no streaming porn, with the lifespan averaging 20 years old, having high infant mortality rates, living in small groups separated by great distances from other small groups.

People were not smart back then. They had no satellites, no telescopes, no radar. Most people were too busy hunting and gathering to look up and wonder "how does this shit work?". But as civilization became more efficient, some people began to ask that question. What did they have to observe the surroundings? just their eyes, and a rock. So it is safe to say their conclusions are a hell of a lot different then our present day conclusions, right?

So why do we still follow the conclusions based on those people?????
And here is the rest of it.
