Now Time For Me To Show What McCain...

really is. McCain is a career politician (even though he uses Vietnam as his career). He is aligned with several interest groups. The top levels of his campaign committee are involved with the banking industry.

In the past few years, the banking industry has done more to hurt Americans (US) than the Bush Administration (the Military Industrial Complex). The fallout from the mortgage crisis and the inevitable home foreclosure market, and the subsequent bailout of the major banking industries without repercussions should be the major discussion of this election.

But it won't. Because the major corporations are tied to the banking industry. And the major corporations own all the media in America (US!!!). So we will not know the entire truth to the destruction of America. The United States of America's mortgage market has imploded more than a white dwarf falling upon itself to become a BLACK FUCKING HOLE!!!

Who can help???? How about a man who has been involved in banking scandals since the 1980's????? How about a man, who had by his side the man, instrumental to the de-regulation that gave the corporations mile-long leeway to do whatever the FUCK they wanted to do (no matter how many "regular Americans" (US!!!) were left out to freeze to death). Phil Gramm is a banking lobbyist. Plain and simple.

Any banker who practices in the deceptive practices this Administration and the future McCain Administration will let practice should go the mythological HELL where they deserve to go.

I do not need to go into detail of McCain and the Keating 5; or, the Phil Gramm connections to de-regulation which led to the current economic climate we are currently in: but I want to talk about influence.

McCain's possible election to the highest power in the U.S. will only summon the free-for-all that will become the banking industry.

You think that banks prey upon the stupid American (which the Right made stupider due to Religious Fanaticism and Decreased Funding For Schools) less then they do now? With McCain in charge?

The banks will be more in control of this country just like Bush put the OIL INDUSTRY in charge the past 8 MOTHER FUCKING YEARS!!!!

The only problem is that OIL will still be in charge also. This time, the DIRECT feed will not be OIL, but BANKS. But BANKS and OIL deal with each other daily; I'm sure they developed a close bond. Their common bond in TAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY CAN FROM THE HARD-WORKING AMERICAN (us!) KNOWS NO BOUNDS.

That is who will really control Washington. Not the Church (even though that is what RELIGIOUS FOLK think is who they are voting for). If the CHURCH's patrons knew the SINS they are committing by voting for the worst dredge of society (the WALL ST ELITE and ALL WHO TAKE THEIR MONEY) then citizens like Bob Barr might have a chance of being the President of the United States of America.

Bob Barr is the Libertarian Nominee for President of the United States of America. "What are Libertarians??" you say????

Libertarians are people who want Government out of our personal lives. Who want Government out of the lives of women who want to decide what they will want to do with her bodies. Libertarians want the Government to stay out of what drugs we can take (prescription synthetic or natural). Libertarians want RELIGION OUT OF AMERICAN LIFE (CONFINED TO THE WALLS OF INDIVIDUAL'S CHURCHES WHERE THEY ONLY BELONG). Libertarians want a REAL approach to the growing crisis of Muslim Fundamentalism (which is just like Christian Fundamentalism, only with more media scrutiny). Libertarians want the TRUTH to be the basis of SCIENCE.

HERE IS THE NOMINEE FOR THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY:::: Bob Barr

Anti-Intellectualism

From Alternet.org:

“It’s like these guys take pride in being ignorant.” Barack Obama finally said it.

Though a successful political and electoral strategy, the Right’s stand against intelligence has steered them far off course, leaving them — and us — unable to deal successfully with the complex and dynamic circumstances we face as a nation and a society.

American 15-year-olds rank 24th out of 29 countries in math literacy, and their parents are as likely to believe in flying saucers as in evolution; roughly 30 to 40 percent believe in each. Their president believes “the jury is still out” on evolution.

Steve Colbert interviewed Georgia Rep. Lynn Westmoreland on “The Colbert Report.” Westmoreland co-sponsored a bill that would require the display of the Ten Commandments in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, but, when asked, couldn’t actually list the commandments.

This stuff would be funny if it weren’t so dangerous.

In the 2004 election, nearly 70 percent of Bush supporters believed the United States had “clear evidence” that Saddam Hussein was working closely with al Qaeda; a third believed weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq; and more than a third that a substantial majority of world opinion supported the U.S.-led invasion, according to the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland. The political right and allied culture warriors actively ignore evidence and encourage misinformation. To motivate their followers, they label intelligent and informed as “elite,” implying that ignorance is somehow both valuable and under attack.

Quoting Bill Maher on his show Real Time with Bill Maher

Say it loud: I’m elite and proud! The right-wing crusade to demonize elites has paid off. Now the country’s run by incompetents who make mediocrity a job requirement and recruit from Pat Robertson’s law school. New rule: Now that liberals have taken back the word liberal, they also have to take back the word “elite.” By now you’ve heard the constant right-wing attacks on the “elite,” or as it’s otherwise known, “hating.” They’ve had it up to their red necks with the “elite media.” The “liberal elite.” Who may or may not be part of the “Washington elite.” A subset of the “East Coast elite.” Which is influenced by “the Hollywood elite.” So basically, unless you’re a shitkicker from Kansas, you’re with the terrorists.

I don’t get it: In other fields — outside of government — elite is a good thing, like an elite fighting force. Tiger Woods is an elite golfer. If I need brain surgery, I’d like an elite doctor. But in politics, elite is bad

It’s not just politics, though. As the influence of fundamental religion grows worldwide, it is becoming perceived as honorable, honest, down-to-Earth to be ignorant and bad-mouth intellectualism. Priceless

Here is how a little thing called "earmarks" is used in government today. An important bill to help rural children in NoLife, Arkansas, have new computers in schools is about to voted on in Congress. GOP Senator Godluvsdrepublicans attaches an earmark of $100 million to build a nuclear power plant in Butthole, Indiana. The Democrats vote down the bill and send it back to get remarked without the earmark. The Republicans then say that the Democrats voted against funding rural schools.

Either that happens; or, when both sides of the isle like the earmark, otherwise known as "pork barrel spending", the massive amounts of money is just funneled and more of our taxpaying money is wasted.

The "Maverick" has always said he fights pork barrel politics, and he has. He made a LIST of some of the pork barrel spending, at least, those he wanted published. He really hasn't done anything to stop it, but he does publish a list.

Now lets talk about Sarah Palin. McCain has asserted that his running mate Sarah Palin has "championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending."

Now it has been reported in the LA Times:
___________________________________________________
For much of his long career in Washington, John McCain has been throwing darts at the special spending system known as earmarking, through which powerful members of Congress can deliver federal cash for pet projects back home with little or no public scrutiny. He's even gone so far as to publish "pork lists" detailing these financial favors.

Three times in recent years, McCain's catalogs of "objectionable" spending have included earmarks for this small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time -- Sarah Palin.

Now, McCain, the likely Republican presidential nominee, has chosen Palin as his running mate, touting her as a reformer just like him.

Priceless. Another lie to the American people. But she is a Christian and a Woman, and the idiots who vote for them just because of those two facts don't read truthful articles, they just watch FOX NEWS.

An Email From Someone Who Knows Her

I saw this email posted on a very reputable news agency, McClatchy (formerly Knight-Ridder). It is from Anne Kilkenny, an Alaskan resident:

ABOUT SARAH PALIN

I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. I have known Sarah since 1992. Everyone here knows Sarah, so it is nothing special to say we are on a first-name basis. Our children have attended the same schools. Her father was my child's favorite substitute teacher. I also am on a first name basis with her parents and mother-in-law. I attended more City Council meetings during her administration than about 99% of the residents of the city.

She is enormously popular; in every way she's like the most popular girl in middle school. Even men who think she is a poor choice and won't vote for her can't quit smiling when talking about her because she is a "babe".

It is astonishing and almost scary how well she can keep a secret. She kept her most recent pregnancy a secret from her children and parents for seven months.

She is "pro-life". She recently gave birth to a Down's syndrome baby. There is no cover-up involved, here; Trig is her baby.

She is energetic and hardworking. She regularly worked out at the gym.

She is savvy. She doesn't take positions; she just "puts things out there" and if they prove to be popular, then she takes credit.

Her husband works a union job on the North Slope for BP and is a champion snowmobile racer. Todd Palin's kind of job is highly sought-after because of the schedule and high pay. He arranges his work schedule so he can fish for salmon in Bristol Bay for a month or so in summer, but by no stretch of the imagination is fishing their major source of income. Nor has her life-style ever been anything like that of native Alaskans.

Sarah and her whole family are avid hunters.

She's smart.

Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000 (at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about 670,000 residents.

During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a "fiscal conservative". During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren't enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million. What did Mayor Palin encourage the voters to borrow money for? Was it the infrastructure that she said she supported? The sewage treatment plant that the city lacked? or a new library? No. $1m for a park. $15m-plus for construction of a multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of property that the City didn't even have clear title to, that was still in litigation 7 yrs later--to the delight of the lawyers involved! The sports complex itself is a nice addition to the community but a huge money pit, not the profit-generator she claimed it would be. She also supported bonds for $5.5m for road projects that could have been done in 5-7 yrs without any borrowing.

While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her office redecorated more than once.

These are small numbers, but Wasilla is a very small city.

As an oil producer, the high price of oil has created a budget surplus in Alaska. Rather than invest this surplus in technology that will make us energy independent and increase efficiency, as Governor she proposed distribution of this surplus to every individual in the state.

In this time of record state revenues and budget surpluses, she recommended that the state borrow/bond for road projects, even while she proposed distribution of surplus state revenues: spend today's surplus, borrow for needs.

She's not very tolerant of divergent opinions or open to outside ideas or compromise. As Mayor, she fought ideas that weren't generated by her or her staff. Ideas weren't evaluated on their merits, but on the basis of who proposed them.

While Sarah was Mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respected City Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing from the library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residents rallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin's attempt at out-and-out censorship, so Palin backed down and withdrew her termination letter. People who fought her attempt to oust the Librarian are on her enemies list to this day.

Sarah complained about the "old boy's club" when she first ran for Mayor, so what did she bring Wasilla? A new set of "old boys". Palin fired most of the experienced staff she inherited. At the City and as Governor she hired or elevated new, inexperienced, obscure people, creating a staff totally dependent on her for their jobs and eternally grateful and fiercely loyal--loyal to the point of abusing their power to further her personal agenda, as she has acknowledged happened in the case of pressuring the State's top cop (see below).

As Mayor, Sarah fired Wasilla's Police Chief because he "intimidated" her, she told the press. As Governor, her recent firing of Alaska's top cop has the ring of familiarity about it. He served at her pleasure and she had every legal right to fire him, but it's pretty clear that an important factor in her decision to fire him was because he wouldn't fire her sister's ex-husband, a State Trooper. Under investigation for abuse of power, she has had to admit that more than 2 dozen contacts were made between her staff and family to the person that she later fired, pressuring him to fire her ex-brother-in-law. She tried to replace the man she fired with a man who she knew had been reprimanded for sexual harassment; when this caused a public furor, she withdrew her support.

She has bitten the hand of every person who extended theirs to her in help. The City Council person who personally escorted her around town introducing her to voters when she first ran for Wasilla City Council became one of her first targets when she was later elected Mayor. She abruptly fired her loyal City Administrator; even people who didn't like the guy were stunned by this ruthlessness.

Fear of retribution has kept all of these people from saying anything publicly about her.

When then-Governor Murkowski was handing out political plums, Sarah got the best, Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission: one of the few jobs not in Juneau and one of the best paid. She had no background in oil & gas issues. Within months of scoring this great job which paid $122,400/yr, she was complaining in the press about the high salary. I was told that she hated that job: the commute, the structured hours, the work. Sarah became aware that a member of this Commission (who was also the State Chair of the Republican Party) engaged in unethical behavior on the job. In a gutsy move which some undoubtedly cautioned her could be political suicide, Sarah solved all her problems in one fell swoop: got out of the job she hated and garnered gobs of media attention as the patron saint of ethics and as a gutsy fighter against the "old boys' club" when she dramatically quit, exposing this man's ethics violations (for which he was fined).

As Mayor, she had her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork from Senator Ted Stevens. Lately, she has castigated his pork-barrel politics and publicly humiliated him. She only opposed the "bridge to nowhere" after it became clear that it would be unwise not to.

As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budget guidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoing projects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislative action restored most of these projects--which had been vetoed simply because she was not aware of their importance--but with the unobservant she had gained a reputation as "anti-pork".

She is solidly Republican: no political maverick. The State party leaders hate her because she has bit them in the back and humiliated them. Other members of the party object to her self-description as a fiscal conservative.

Around Wasilla there are people who went to high school with Sarah. They call her "Sarah Barracuda" because of her unbridled ambition and predatory ruthlessness. Before she became so powerful, very ugly stories circulated around town about shenanigans she pulled to be made point guard on the high school basketball team. When Sarah's mother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community and experienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her.

As Governor, she stepped outside of the box and put together of package of legislation known as "AGIA" that forced the oil companies to march to the beat of her drum.

Like most Alaskans, she favors drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. She has questioned if the loss of sea ice is linked to global warming. She campaigned "as a private citizen" against a state initiaitive that would have either a) protected salmon streams from pollution from mines, or b) tied up in the courts all mining in the state (depending on who you listen to). She has pushed the State's lawsuit against the Dept. of the Interior's decision to list polar bears as threatened species.

McCain is the oldest person to ever run for President; Sarah will be a heartbeat away from being President.

There has to be literally millions of Americans who are more knowledgeable and experienced than she.

However, there's a lot of people who have underestimated her and are regretting it.

CLAIM VS FACT *"Hockey mom": true for a few years.

*"PTA mom": true years ago when her first-born was in elementary school, not since.

*"NRA supporter": absolutely true

*social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a bill that would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships (said she did this because it was unconsitutional).

*pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor to promote it.

*"Pro-life": mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down's syndrome baby BUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-life legislation

*"Experienced": Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city administrator to run town of about 5,000.

*political maverick: not at all

*gutsy: absolutely!

*open & transparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good at explaining actions.

*has a developed philosophy of public policy: no

*"a Greenie": no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores and disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR.

*fiscal conservative: not by my definition!

*pro-infrastructure: No. Promoted a sports complex and park in a city without a sewage treatment plant or storm drainage system. Built streets to early 20th century standards.

*pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden on residents

*pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of city government in Wasilla's history.

*pro-labor/pro-union. No. Just because her husband works union doesn't make her pro-labor. I have seen nothing to support any claim that she is pro-labor/pro-union.

WHY AM I WRITING THIS?

First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informed voter. I am a voter registrar. For 10 years I put on student voting programs in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny + Alaska), you will find references to my participation in local government, education, and PTA/parent organizations.

Secondly, I've always operated in the belief that "Bad things happen when good people stay silent". Few people know as much as I do because few have gone to as many City Council meetings.

Third, I am just a housewife. I don't have a job she can bump me out of. I don't belong to any organization that she can hurt. But, I am no fool; she is immensely popular here, and it is likely that this will cost me somehow in the future: that's life.

Fourth, she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100 or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah's attempt at censorship.

Fifth, I looked around and realized that everybody else was afraid to say anything because they were somehow vulnerable.

CAVEATS I am not a statistician. I developed the numbers for the increase in spending & taxation 2 years ago (when Palin was running for Governor) from information supplied to me by the Finance Director of the City of Wasilla, and I can't recall exactly what I adjusted for: did I adjust for inflation? for population increases? Right now, it is impossible for a private person to get any info out of City Hall--they are swamped. So I can't verify my numbers.

You may have noticed that there are various numbers circulating for the population of Wasilla, ranging from my "about 5,000", up to 9,000. The day Palin's selection was announced a city official told me that the current population is about 7,000. The official 2000 census count was 5,460. I have used about 5,000 because Palin was Mayor from 1996 to 2002, and the city was growing rapidly in the mid-90's.

The Most Loved Woman in America...

and I don't mean Oprah Winfrey. Sarah Palin has taken this country by storm. Her selection as McCain's Vice Presidential choice has propelled McCain to the lead in many national polls. But what are we really getting with Palin?

Well, say goodbye to abortion rights. McCain and Palin will be instrumental in overturning Rowe v Wade. Why? Nothing based on science or the population of progressives who want an "evolution" of this country away from the past. They will overturn it to keep the Fanatical, Religious Fundamental base supporting them. Why do you think McCain chose a person who doesn't have the qualifications to govern Ohio. I mean, she's the Governor of fucking Alaska.

What's her religion? She lists it as Pentecostal: a fundamentalist religious movement within Christianity that places special emphasis on the direct personal experience of God. Great! Another person in the White House who thinks she can talk to God. If God is speaking to these people, then Bush should have gotten all the info he needed to bring this country to peace and prosperity. Talk about another four years of the same thing.

Another thing to say goodbye to is EVOLUTION!!!! Contrary to what you hear from the those who say they speak to god, evolution is proven daily. But she wants intelligent design to be taught in PUBLIC SCHOOLS. Madalyn Murray O'Hair's work is being shot down. It's hard to push back when religious folks are a dominate majority in this country (though they always whine that they are the ones being persecuted). This is what she said. "I believe we have a creator; and many theories of evolution." BULLSHIT!!!

She also wants to "let parents opt out of schoolbooks they find offensive." CENSORSHIP!!!! Just like what Fundamentalist Christians do best, wipe out anything that shows a view against the church. As mayor of Wasilla she considered the banning of books from the town's library. And she sees God in her own activities. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built," she testified at a church in June about her big project as governor.

Lets go into the farce that is Sarah Palin. She took three days to flatout lie to the American people. No spin, no hide some of the facts to make your view look better, no attacking the opponent over their position, JUST FLAT OUT LYING.

The first lie involves her words after McCain introduced her in Dayton, when she said she opposed the infamous "bridge to nowhere." She claimed that opposition as the basis to falsely showing herself as a Republican who opposes earmarks or pork projects. The problem is that Palin strongly supported the "bridge to nowhere" when she was running for governor in 2006 and then accepted money for it. Only after the bridge got negative publicity and Congress decided not to continue funding it, did she voice opposition to the project, but in more of an expedient "you can't cut our funding, we don't want it" manner. Of note is that she gladly took the pork money already funded for the bridge and built a road to where the bridge was supposed to be. I guess she built the "road to nowhere."

A second lie was her attempt to get her brother in law, a state trooper going through an ugly divorce with Palin's sister, fired , using her influence as governor. This trooper may have not been the exemplary cop, but he was investigated and punished for his actions (he was suspended five days). All was well, until Palin's sister filed for divorce. Then calls came from Palin to investigate the issue more, then members of the Alaska Cabinet phoned the state police chief, then emails were sent by Palin demanding action. She initially denied any involvement in the incident, that is until tapes surfaced linking her office to the attempt. The whole episode is under investigation and a full report is expected a few days before the November election. Palin fired the state police chief after he refused to summarily dismiss her brother in law.

What is hard to believe is the increase in McCain's poll numbers is based on a change in voting preferences of White Women. Geez, I thought white women loved black men. I guess it is the "you go sister" attitude. Even though that sister will burn the other sisters at the stake for heresy while she chants and drops to the ground writhing in the spirit like a drunk sorority girl on Ecstasy.

If you are a Hillary Clinton supporter, why are you even thinking of switching to this woman?

And the final part of Palin I want to talk about is the Down's Syndrome baby she said she "had" five months ago. Well, according to local rumors in Palin's town, this child is really the child of her daughter Bristol, who was recently announced to be pregnant.

The controversy arises from two sources: First, Palin does not appear pregnant in any photographs before her March 5th announcement she was seven months pregnant. The announcement came as quite a shock to people who had worked closely with her, and have been quoted as saying that she did not appear pregnant whatsoever during the prior 7 months. While this is debatable, you can judge for yourself here:
http://gov.state.ak.us/photos.php

Second, Palin's daughter Bristol was 16 and attends an Anchorage high school. Students who have attended class with her report that she has been out of school for months, claiming a prolonged case of mono.

What would the Conservative Right say if Barak Obama's oldest daughter was pregnant? The who theme of McCain's campaign would be "Family Values" "Family Values" "Family Values". But since it's a Conservative Right Winger's child, it's all about "What a Family!" What a Family!".

Even if Sarah Palin is the mother of this child, look what she did while she was about to deliver the child. I you read this and don't get sick, then you are a male.

According to Sarah, her water broke at 4 am while she and her husband were in Dallas for a conference. Statistically, a 5th pregnancy, when the water breaks the baby is coming very very soon and you should get to a hospital ASAP. Additionally, this was a high risk birth because it was a special needs baby (they knew this). To complicate matters further, the water broke early. Certainly they should have gone to a medical center that has a neonatal intensive care unit. Dallas has many hospitals that fit this bill. But did Sarah go to a Dallas hospital? No, she decided to give her speech later that morning. After that, she got on an airplane and flew 8 hours to go to Alaska.

Ask any obstetrician if someone whose water breaks in the 8th month and is carrying a special needs baby should get on an airplane and fly 8 hours, and he will tell you that that would be reckless behavior. It could also be considered malpractice (by the mother) ........ against the baby. These are not the actions of parents who claim to love a baby so much.

The plane landed in Seattle (which also has great hospitals) and then in Anchorage. Instead of going to the closest hospital in Anchorage which is a tertiary care facility, she drove 45 minutes more to go to a rural, non tertiary care hospital that does not have the facilities that she could need due to the early term birth or the special needs a Trisomy 21 child might have.

So what is it? I she a totally irresponsible "right to lifer" who risked the child's life? Or was she just traveling to Alaska, to be at the side of her pregnant daughter who was having the child?

Either way, HYPOCRISY.

The Most Hated Woman In America...

and I don't mean Hillary Clinton. Madalyn Murray O'Hair was a modern-day Joan of Arc. She stood up to the most violent, sadistic, hard-headed, mean-spirited, holier-than-thou Americans: Holier-than-thou Christian Fundamentalists. But to see what she was able to accomplish (and what she didn't accomplish) you have to go back in time, to the early 1950's, during the height of the Cold War.

The Cold War fucked up America big time. It kept Conservatives in power for a long time, using the War to use the patented "war mongering" attack to control the American people. This was the beginning of a Fundamentalist movement to instill Gawd in a more powerful appearance to the children.

If you were a Communist, you were godless. Your Gawd would have been Stalin. You work, you sleep, to do everything for Stalin. Well, the U.S. leaders saw this as the opportunity to make Gawd an even more over-seeing being over the Christian Nation. It was the battle of good vs evil: godless Commies and god-filled (let's face it, it was only supposed to be the Christian Gawd) America. It was an easy choice, go to heaven or go to hell.

To keep the dissident's numbers down, an indoctrination of putting Gawd in the public schools, adding "under God" in the Pledge of the Allegiance, and using Evangelical Christian's hypnotic presence to brainwash the people through the emergence of television.

One woman, Madalyn Murray O'Hair, was the first to call Bullshit to this government's attempt to control it's people through fear of a Gawd that will hope you get burned in oil for eternity (how peaceful, Christian-like of them). Over finding out that the public school her son attended made all the children recite, daily, the Lord's Prayer in PUBLIC school, she decided to stand up to the status quo, go against what 9 out of 10 people (called the "mentally ill") believe, that there is a higher power pulling strings, working everything on this planet like a puppeteer.

She fought and took the case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and won a landmark case (Murray v. Curlett) which put an end to ANY (especially the Christian) prayer in public schools. Contrary to what you hear from a Religious Fanatical, OUR Constitution separates church and state. Fundies (though there is nothing "fun" about them, at least, until you get them in the bedroom) will stretch and spin the truth to say "well they expected everyone to believe in Gawd but you can pick your own." Bullshit!!!

What Ms O'Hair did was start a movement that continues to grow through this day and will continue into the future. With the vast array of information available nowadays to find out the truth, the movement will grow exponentially, just like the internet grows exponentially. Sure, as long as there is an Alabama, Texas, Rural Pennsylvania, and Appalachia there will be Gawd. But more and more people can stand up and say "I don't believe this horseshit" and will be calm to the fact that they are not the only ones.

Throughout her forty plus year life, Ms O'Hair endured attacks to her home, death threats against her and her two sons, and kidnappings by Christian Fundies, but that never stopped her from speaking her mind. Sometimes solace in yourself is more important than offending others. She could not stand to see this country overtaken by the Religious Right. Seeing them use anything and anyone as fodder to carry on it's zealous takeover.

Madalyn Murray O'Hair founded the American Atheist, dedicated to defending the civil liberties of atheists and advocating for the complete separation of church and state. It also releases a monthly magazine called the American Atheist Magazine. In a 1965 interview with Playboy, she claimed religion was "a crutch" and an "irrational reliance on superstitions and supernatural nonsense." Just think, a mother of two children granting to be interviewed by Playboy, speaking the truth to a nation of growing post-WWII rebellious teenagers, had a definite impact on this nation.

These same people became the protesters who stood up to this oppressive government, fighting wars for the likes of GE and the "big three": Lockheed Martin, Boeing Corporation, and Raytheon Corporation. The "big three" gets one out of every four dollars doled out by OUR Defense Department. Thanks to the likes of President's Reagan and Nixon, who used religious people as a pawn in their global takeover and the biggest war chest in the world, then giving that war chest to the companies who spent the money to get them elected.

Too bad Madalyn wasn't alive in 2001 (she "died" in 1995), or we could have heard her go ape-shit over the way the right wing Christian Fundamentals used a national tragedy and Gawd to gain a stronghold over the war chest again. The same companies are in control again: hell, they even own most of the media in the U.S. Gawd is becoming a more focal point in politics.

And Christians are drinking the kool-aid again, falling for "radical Muslims" "abortion" "gay marriage" and "intelligent design" this time instead of "Commies" and "godless". The Evangelical Right has held control again of our country, and "mavericks" like John McCain have to "kneel before Zod" and do exactly what the Fundies want, or they won't get elected. How stupid are the people, as a whole, who allows themselves to be swayed in such a non-subtle manner; but back the people who are perpetrating the ruse.

Maybe we all can take a little from Madalyn Murray O'Hair, see what you truly feel about these following quotes from her. Look in your heart, not in a book, and see if this is what you believe. You don't have to fear, there are many more like me, and her.

"An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church. An atheist believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said. An atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, war eliminated. "

"I feel that everyone who wants to say anything, do anything, should be able to say anything or do anything, within the limits of not hurting another person."

"In an unconstitutional partnership with the state, the church can impose the most irresistible, if covert, controls conceivable. "

"No god ever gave any man anything, nor ever answered any prayer at any time - nor ever will."

"Religion has caused more misery to all of mankind in every stage of human history than any other single idea. "

"Religion is induced insanity. "

"The relationships that people have - that are sexual, psychological, emotional - these relationships are not open to supervision by parents, schools, churches, or government. Nobody has any right to intervene at all in any kind of relationship like that. "

America: A Nation of Whiners

Republicans have it right sometimes, like calling the nation a "nation of whiners". If something is said that upsets a group of people, the group of people doesn't refute the accusation with data and facts to claim the groups case is true. That would be difficult when they are trying to prove true some of the most false statements ever known to man: the Bible is the real word of a mystical creator of all of us (even though human's life on this planet is just one frame in the "Ben Hur" epic of Earth's history.

Another case that cannot be claimed true is that the U.S.'s economy is in a severe downturn, recession, that shows no end in sight (like the fake, propaganda-filled "War on Terror"). Phil Gramm, McCain's former chief economic adviser, said America has "sort of become a nation of whiners" wallowing in some kind of imaginary "mental recession."

Another person who likes calling people "whiners" is Sarah Palin. Talking about Hillary Clinton's historic Presidential Primary, Palin says, "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or, you know, maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn’t do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country. I don’t think it’s, it bodes well for her -- a statement like that."

But isn't that what everyone does nowadays? Whine? Because that is a way to garner sympathy. It is so much easier to complain about the complaints than to actually disprove a factual complaint against a person. John McCain pulls this off all the time. When he is asked something he has no answer to Bullshit his way out of, he just says that you can't ask him that or accuse him he did that because is a POW, and was tortured for this country. Especially during the last two plus years, when McCain sold-out to the Right Wing Extremists who think creationism is the true science, evolution is heresy, abortion is murder in all cases, and starting wars against Muslim nations is important work, he throws the POW response when reporters (real reporters, not FOX NEWS reporters) ask him tough questions as to why he flip-flopped on all his "Maverick" beliefs that went against the Conservative Right.

Actually, John, according to your and your Republican Right Wing Religious Zealot's ideas of "torture", you were never tortured, just subjected to harsh interrogation techniques. If you watched the Bullshit-athon called the Republican National Convention, you saw many of the Republican leaders talk incessantly over McCain's abuses as a POW. But no one, I repeat NO ONE, said it was torture. McCain was TORTURED!!!! But he or anyone in his party can't say it because that would then mean that all the "enemy combatants" all over the world who were tortured by the hands of the U.S. Conservative Leaders were tortured in their definition of "torture".

And look what you got out of these harsh interrogation techniques: the ability to hold a very powerful position for decades just by having the POW moniker on your record, the beer heiress model second wife you married after you dumped your first wife, while she was in the hospital, after you returned to the U.S., and all the perks that come with marrying said multi-million dollar beer heiress model wife.

We need to hold our Representatives to a higher standard of communication with the American people. Whining about those who, they think, are whining is not a way to properly convey to US what you stand for as a political leader. How about making your case to why you believe that way, using insightful dialogue and thought-out arguments. Instead of just complaining that what you said "made me hurt inside" and "you are mean" and "you can't talk about that".

If you believe in Bullshit, then you are subjected to being called out on that Bullshit, no matter how many people think that your Bullshit is true. Otherwise, we will only elect those who prey on the stupidity of a large proportion of the population who fall for the "sad sap" person who is being "persecuted" instead of what honest dissent actually is: keeping our leaders in check.

Without dissent, we might as well invade every country that has oil, install a Puritan society in the U.S., and pay hard working Americans $3.00 per hour with no insurance so Corporations can make as much money for itself and it's major stockholders (China and Saudi Arabia to name two big ones).

To close, here is a clip of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. If you don't think he is a flip-flopper, a sell-out, and a panderer of epic proportions, you are Bullshitting yourself.
